Ultimate 11’s – Never played at the World Cup but should have

As World Cup fever has hit the nation and we can once again dream of England actually winning the dam thing this time, we thought we’d stay on a WC tip and put together our Ultimate 11 of players that never played at the World Cup but should have.

We were Spoilt for choice up front and in midfield but we did struggle a bit in defence.

Do you really know your club’s proud history or are you just a teenage glory hunter? (not mentioning any names from the Kings Road & Eastlands). also, I don’t think Alan Hansen did either (even though Scotland played while he was at his best!)

Last name I’d throw in there is Jari Litmanen. I know he was a bit bobbins while at Liverpool, but he was a fabulous player in his prime.

Ginola should get a mention also

Darren December 8, 2009 at 1:09 pm: He’s not having the best of seasons, he tends to drift in and out of games far to often for my liking. On his day he is unplayable.

I won’t be surprised if he left in jan, he’s already been moaning about taxes in England, playing on the left and now says we urgently need to buy new played, which is right of course
dexylongshot December 9, 2009 at 5:50 pm: Personally, I think Arshavin has been playing well for Arsenal. I would have in my midfield every week injury permitting. I agree on his departure, highest bidder and all that, he’ll be at Madrid or Barca next season
