If it wasn’t for Man City then this seasons transfer market talk would be boring. Nothing happening at Man Utd, Chelski or Arsenal. Hopefully once Balotelli goes to City then the transfer market will rocket, Mascherano will bugger off to Inter with his “master” Benitez, then LFC will have some money to play with.

Everton and West Ham have the best academies in England, not City or Boro you plum. I reckon City would have a better chance of winning something, if the brought players in gradually, not 10 a season. 25+ million for Milner,24 Million for Lescott and 200 grand a week for bloody Yaya, what are they thinking. They maybe buying one of Villa’s best players, but the stupid money being paid, will only make Villa stronger, rather than weaker.

Hey Matt, (above). Of the 13 English players currently in the Man City squad, 7 have come through the Academy. Hart, SWP, Onuoha, M Johnson, Richards, Nimely and Vidal. At least another 2 are out on loan, with more in the reserves. Another 2 currently with the squad in the USA are Mee and Trippier. A couple were sold this year, but more are coming through. City have 3 players picked to play in the England under-17s Nordic Tournament in August. Ellis Plummer, Louis Hutton and Alex Henshall. The younger players seem to be interested in picking up knowledge from people like Patrick Vierra and Craig Bellamy, who is a favourite for tips and tricks. Just thought you’d like to know.

I am an Arsenal fan & I say good luck to Man City, I dont feel jealous like most people obviuosly are. Nice to see someone else at the top for a change I say and we, Chelsea & man united & the scousers have been spending big for years.
So much bile in the media is laughable and we are all motivated by money.

Everyone knows the English transfer marker is over priced, why do you think Mr Wenger doesn’t bother with such mediocrity.

Milner had a good season for Villa, on the back of that he is all of a suddenly worth 20m plus.

If Milner is worth 20m then Messi must worth 400 million!

If Man City pay Villa £20m plus for James Milner i will be the happiest Villa fan alive! I have never seen a player who i simply dont rate, be rated so highly by almost everyone else in the entire world. £20m for such a limited player really is symptomatic of the problem with English football!! If James Milner is worth £20m then it is simply more evidence that the English Premier league and its players are vastly overrated.

I can’t see how city can keep all those egos happy? Why do they need so many players, I read they have 38 in the squad means most of the kids won’t get a look in now, which is a shame as Boro aside, theyvhave the best academy in England.

As for James Milner, £30 m, do me a fav guv, ffs!
