Another trophyless season for the Gunners?

One injury too many for Arsenal?

As a frequent visitor to the website physioroom you’ll see that Arsenal are consistently top of the table with an injury list the size of Arsene Wengers transfer kitty.

Not only are The Gunners missing their complete spine, including captain Cesc Fabregas, William Gallas & Robin Van Persie, but Alex Song has now joined the list, which also includes Andrey Arshavin, Johan Djourou, Kieran Gibbs & Arron Ramsey.

“It was a bad surprise on Monday morning,” said Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. “Alex had a scan on Sunday on his knee and it is inflamed cartilage.

Barcelona have their own problems as Zlatan Ibrahimovic hurt his calf in the warm-up before their 4-1 win over Athletic Bilbao on Saturday. Although the Swede scored twice at the Emirates, I don’t see this as a massive loss as the talented Bojan Krkic will replace the erratic target man.

Captain Carles Puyol and Gerard Pique are both banned. Yaya Toure and Jeffren Suarez should slot into the defence, but both face a race to be fit after picking up injuries against Athletic Bilbao, midfielder Andres Iniesta, who missed the first leg, also remains a doubt.

“We are short of players for Tuesday and we need support at the Nou Camp, the crowd can push us on – it’s a real final,” said Guardiola.

The Gunners face a daunting task as the current Spanish champions are on course for successive trebles, and in many peoples eyes are the best team of the last ten years.

I’m hoping for a miracle, but with all the injuries I fear the physioroom league table could be The Gunners’ only real chance of winning anything again this season.

Messi. The best since maradona and he will b better. He would have beat any team in the world tonight. As blur once said, all your gotta do is watch him play!

Lets not forget Arsenal had half a team out injured. How would barca cope without Messi?

Saying that, the boy is shear class.

  • Darren

lets not also forget the Arsenal ladies are on course for another double. So you do the math!

Seriously though, even with our strongest team Barca would have been too good. It’s what they do without the ball which is so impressive.

Their pressing game is very impressive, Arsenal didnt have any time on the ball.

People will say Barca are a one man team but so are Arsenal and United.

Lets just revel in the fact that we have just watch one of the finest players work his magic on a football pitch.

    I salute you Lionel Messi!!!!!!

I think that Barca are the finest team of the last decade, not only do they score sh*t loads of goals, they are also excellent at the back.

I think credit must go to the manager, 6 trophies in 2 seasons with more on the way.

To say Arsenal are a one man team is not true. Of course we missed Fabregas but we’ve been without RVP for most of the season, would any other team be able to cope without losing their main goal threat? I think not.

We are miles behind Barca but who isn’t?
