Clearly Arsenal need to and will strengthen…. but putting aside losing Fabregas and Nasri (who Wenger will look to replace), Arsenal had 8 players injured or suspended yesterday. So to compare like with like the 2004/5 team would have to be:

    1/ Lehmann
    2/ Lauren
    4/ Senderos
    5/ Eboue
    6/ Edu
    7/ Seb Larsson
    8/ Jose Antonio Reyes
    9/ Jeremie Alliadiere
    10/ Van Persie
    11/ Ljungberg

there’s only 3 days left. we should have done all our business including selling both Nasri & Fabregas months ago.

If we would have replaced those with quality, actually spent wisely instead of spending 16m on a 17 year old this humiliation could have been avoided.

That 2004 reserve side wouldn’t of lost 8-2, as we were more organized back then.

I remember in the 90’s when Tony Adams went inside for 2 months, everyone said we would crumble, but we didn’t, Andy Linighan (who wasn’t the best defender we’ve ever had) slotted in and did a professional job. That’s the difference between todays squad and previous ones.

We need a defensive coach. A left back, a center back, a creative midfielder and a striker.

ps: but above all, we need experienced players and leaders. To say it’s men against boys is an insult to boys. It’s men against kids!!

United had the younger team didn’t they?

So it was kids against better kids.

    good point. good point indeed.

we’ve just sold another defender, alright, he’s crap but we now have no left back.

enough is definitely enough. this squad is so poor that even Fergi feels sorry for us.

I have never been so humiliated in all my life.

Deluded, no tactics, no direction, no leadership.

Just look at that 2004 side!

We’ve probably got more money today as well

It’s a shame the game wasn’t blessed with Oguzhan Ozyakup ‘s presence!!

Rumour mill central says Wenger is going in for Malouda and Yossi, more midfielders, still quiet on the defensive front. It’s his own fault. Ben banging on for months, a lot of months, a new defence with experience. I couldn’t believe what i was hearing when the arsenal team sheet was announced on SUnday. I swiftly got on the obile and had Mancs down to win by 4 or more goals and an Ashley Young double. Easy money. I wish i’d gone for the Rooney hatrick as well now. Dark days in North London.
