Juventus will wrap up the transfer of Arsenal target Fernando Llorente in the next few days according to the Juventus official website.
Llorente alerted several top clubs when it was reported that he would be available on a free transfer in the summer after he signaled his intention to leave Atletic Bilbao at the end of the season.
However, it is now clear that the Spaniard will join Juventus in the summer, signing a four-year deal in the process.
The powerful striker has only made eight appearances this season having been left on the bench by manager Marcello Bielsa and has made no secret of his desire to leave the club.
He said: “I am going to leave on June 30. I want to develop as a player and try something new. It isn’t about money because the offer the club made was irresistible.”
Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with the 27-year-old Spanish international but will now miss out on the World Cup and European Championship winner after he opted to sign for the Serie A Champions in July.
Llorente, nicknamed the Lion King, was a key player for the Europa League runners-up team that knocked Manchester United and FC Schalke out of the Europa League last season. Llorente scored in both legs against Man United and attracted praise from Sir Alex Ferguson.
