Man City vs. Naples. How to beat Italians

Manchester City are one of the best club in the World. In the last years they have bought amazing players, such as David Silva, Sergio Aguero, Samir Nasri, Yaya Toure and Edin Dzeko, plus they have a great manager like Roberto Mancini. However the winning in the match of tomorrow agaist Naples is not to be taken for granted.

Naples, whose manager is Walter Mazzarri, is one of the best club in Italy and the most important player that they have bought the last summer is former Udinese’s midfilder Gokhan Inler. Naple’s tactic is usually a 3-4-3 and in the last year they reached a Champions League placement quite easily.

Let’s see, role by role, which are the most important qualities of Naples.

The defenders are not as known as the ones of Manchester City, but they are very strong when they play together. Paolo Cannavaro (Fabio Cannavaro’s brother), Hugo Campagnaro and Salvatore Aronica play in Naples since lot of years. Even if  Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko are two of the best forwards in the world it won’t be easy to beat the second best Italian defence of the last season.

Naples’ players run a lot and are physically very strong, these are the most important qualities of the team. Gokhan Inler and Walter Gargano play as central midfilder, while Cristian Maggio and Andrea Dossena are the wings. The team can also rely on strong forwards like Edinson Cavani, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Marek Hamsik. This player in particular is very similar to Frank Lampard. He’s a central midfielder who scores lot of goals (45 in 145 Serie A matches). I would say that tomorrow Yaya Toure and Gareth Barry will be fundamental in stopping him.

Edinson Cavani in the last year scored 26 goals in 36 games, these numbers are enough to introduce the forward, while Ezequiel Lavezzi doesn’t score as much as Cavani but he’s an amazing assit-man, perfect to play next to the Uruguayan forward.  Roberto Mancini knows Naples’ qualities very well. For sure he knows that his players are better from the technical point of view, but tomorrow it won’t be enough  to beat Naples, as Manchester City will also have to run and suffer a lot to overcome one of the best Italian team.

Well, I think you’re right but the badger overtakes the sole anyway.

Cavani scored another hatrick at the weekend, he’s on fire, the shambolic Arsenal defence we saw at the weekend best buck their ideas up before the return or I can see tears in North London.
