Austria 0 Croatia 1

A win is a win is a win. And if we didn’t get it the first time, a win is a win is a win. Croatia played Austria off the park for the first five minutes and went a goal up through Luka Modric’s fully deserved penalty. Yet with hindsight it was probably the worst thing that could happen as the team then proceeded to sit back, confident enough to play a counter attacking game that on many occasions flattered to deceive. In the end, as they had done against Moldova, they hung on to claim a priceless win, but Slaven Bilic will surely not be happy with the overall performance and attitude of his players.

I’ve got admit, i went large on a croatia win and was bricking for the last 85 minutes of the match. The Austrians slowly got back into the game and were unlucky. I still belive Croatia will get through though and can’t wait to the Germany game on Thursday. The way, they played last night, Bilic should be a tad worried.

Do you blame them for going easy on the austrians? i mean it wouldn’t be right to beat the hosts heavily in their first game lol

  • Andrea
