Betting and Robin

The start of the new Barclays Premier League season is almost upon us and betting is well underway on who will be next to lift the coveted trophy.

The recent acquisition of Robin Van Persie by Manchester United has not been enough to throw Man City off the top of the odds leaderboard.

Betfair have Man City currently priced at 11/8 with Man U just trailing at 11/5 and Chelsea in third at 11/2. Meanwhile Ladbrokes have City priced at 5/4 and the Red Devils are at 2/1.

So, like last season, a two horse race is looking the most likely outcome.

As is usually the case then, our attention turns towards the often more exciting (bar last season of course) relegation battle.

Despite finishing the championship strongly and eventually pipping Southampton to the title, Reading are seen as the most likely team to be relegated with odds of 11/10 of heading straight back down.

The three W’s (Wigan, West Ham and West Brom) are all loitering dangerously as well.

However, it would be a brave man to put money on Wigan getting relegated; you just wonder how many more miracles they have up their sleeves. You can put your house on the fact they’ll be in the mix when the time comes though.

The Hammers are looking like the least likely of the newly promoted teams to go straight back down. Odds of 9/4 are there to prove such a theory wrong.

Whether the title scrap will go down to the wire like last season we don’t know, You can put your house on the fact they’ll be in the mix when the time comes though. If you are thinking about having a bet this season, I recommend Luxbet Online Betting
