Brighton 1-0 Nottingham Forest Amex Stadium

Brighton and Hove Albion get off to a great start to their championship season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest, this was thanks to a Kazenga Lua Luas powerful left footed shot from the left side of the box to the bottom right corner with the assist by Solly March.

De Vries punch out Tomer Hemed’s first-half header, while Forest’s Henri Lansbury and Brighton’s Beram Kayal both hit the post from outside the box.

Brighton gave Forest a good run for their money although they survived an early scare when midfielder Lansbury’s 30 free-kick clipped the post and went very wide.

Kayal hit the woodwork with a shot from 20 yards half way through the first half, as Brighton began to take full control of the match and forest started to get frustrated.

A stunning one-handed stop from de Vries stop  striker Hemed a debut goal in first-half stoppage time.

Forests best chance to get an equaliser came when the hosts failed to cope with a quickly-taken throw, but Walker could not turn this shot into the goal.

This win was Brighton’s first on the opening day of a season since 2011-12. Nottingham Forest will be looking to bounce back in their next game.
