Sven McClaren’s controversial ‘index’ which caused so much controversy has finally been published.

Despite the clowns at the FA persuading Capello to postpone, the England teams ratings are available for everyone to see.

Unsurprisingly, Robert Green’s blooper against the USA makes him the lowest rated player, while Joe Cole and Gareth Barry also failed to make much of an impression.

Wayne Rooney who had an abysmal time in South Africa rated lower than Emile Heskey, while striker Jermain Defoe topped Capello’s list.

Sunday League winger Shaun Wright-Phillips and Steven Gerrard also rated high by the nutty Italian.

Capello also rated players from other teams, with man of the tournament Diego Forlan topping the overall list with a score of 65.77.

Average mark given to England’s players

Robert Green 51.67
David James 59.28
Glen Johnson 57.18
John Terry 60.48
Ledley King 57.50
Jamie Carragher 59.04
Matthew Upson 60.21
Ashley Cole 59.58
Aaron Lennon 57.64
Frank Lampard 58.58
Steven Gerrard 60.98
James Milner 59.40
Gareth Barry 57.50
Shaun Wright-Phillips 61.09
Joe Cole 55.45
Wayne Rooney 58.87
Emile Heskey 60.15
Jermain Defoe 62.47

This was such a blunder by Capello. Still funny to see Rob Green as his worst player though!

  • Barry

it’s a massive blooper, even bigger than Rob Greens! How can the players trust him now? He’s surely lost the whole dressing room now?

Question: Why wasn’t Capello at the Under 19’s match? I mean, what does he actually do for that 6 million per year?

This is hilarious, what does capello actually expect to gain from this?

So Defoe scores one goal and his our best performer? And swp was one of our best players too?

    What a joke!
