Stoke City striker Peter Crouch should be taken to Euro 2012 according to his club team-mate Thomas Sorensen.

Those assessing the Latest Euro 2012 odds note how the former Liverpool forward hasn’t featured for England for a while now, but with strikers at a premium for the team at the moment, Sorensen believes Crouch is the man to be called upon.

Speaking about his team-mates international prospects, he said: “Crouchy will hopefully go with England. I can only say he has done so, so well for us.”

“If that’s not enough to get in the England team, the manager there will decide. But I definitely feel he needs a chance.”

Sorensen is set to go to Euro 2012 with Denmark of course and he hopes Crouch joins a relatively significant Stoke contingent in Poland and Ukraine.

He continued: “There are a few of us – Glenn Whelan, Jon Walters and maybe Marc Wilson will go with Ireland. The more the merrier. I think it’s great for the club and its image.”

As for Crouch, he has scored 13 goals for Stoke this season and will be aiming for a couple more between now and the end of the campaign to boost his hopes of being on the plane and being involved with the England Euro 2012 odds.

The problem at the moment though is that there isn’t really a manager to impress. England are set to wait another month or so to name their boss for Euro 2012, although Harry Redknapp is the overwhelming favourite.

This is an appointment Crouch himself would back. Recently, he said: “When he sold me in the past it wasn’t because he wanted to get me out. It was because he got great offers for me.”

“I’ve played in two World Cups and it’s the best feeling running out for your country in a major tournament. I’d love to do that again and in my opinion my best years lie ahead. I genuinely believe that.”

I cannot fathom why Crouch is not a regular in the team, his scoring rate is right up there with the best. Any other England manager other than Cappelo and Crouch would be challenging the outright goalscoring record. Its criminal hes been robbed of his chance. bring in the new regime. Hopefully the new management team will back him and he can get back in the squad.
