World Cup 2010 winner David Villa will be subject to a transfer frenzy as he prepares for life in the Premier League. The Spanish striker, 31, will name his new club before January after handing in a transfer request last month.

The out-of-favour striker has seen himself play an ever increasing bit-part role at Camp Nou where he has made just 11 appearances this season scoring five goals. The Spaniard also received on–pitch criticism from Barcelona golden boy Lionel Messi this season for not passing enough against Celtic and Granada. It is known that the Barcelona hierarchy have had enough of Villa’s on pitch attitude and are willing to sell or loan him out. Youngsters such as Cristian Tello and Alexis Sanchez are preferred in attack with Lionel Messi- with Villa deemed surplus to requirements such is Messi’s extraordinary goalscoring form.

The forward is known to be a big admirer of the Premier League, but would only play for a club that has an attacking, fast-paced and free flowing mentality.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Swansea City would all fit the bill and are all interested in the striker. HOwever, Swansea’s Spanish contingent of Pablo Hernandez, Perez Michu and Chico along with the promise of first team football could be the turning point as to who David Villa will play for in 2013.

Swansea are 1/1 to sign Villa on loan in January with Sky Bet but Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea cannot be ruled out of the running as they continue in their search for a new striker- with deeper pockets.

Could Villa turn down a big wage from Chelsea, Arsenal or Liverpool in a late twist?
