Hammers in for Kaka, I won’t hold my breath

After what seems like a millennium, West Ham finally got shot of Icelandick Chairman Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson who will go back home with his tail between his legs with 70million (he was hoping for double that last year). 70 million doesn’t sound much for a club, especially when you consider that is the figure being bandied about by Real Madrid for The Portuguese Winker. They could dig about for a bit of loose change and get Kaka for that, if Ashley agrees to sell the Geordies!!!

Last year, Gudmundsson was hoping for 130million, that was before the Blades and Tevezgate was sorted. It drives me potty that he was holding out while at least 5 consortiums were circling, with an Asian one believed to be led by the 6th richest man on the planet with an estimated fortune of 22 billion or something. (Sorry, haven’t got time to check the exact figure).

Maybe it was for the best, Man City didn’t exactly set the league on fire last season with all those nelsons burning a hole in Sparky’s backburner. Man City though in time will be challenging and no doubt overtake Roman in the silly stakes and buy City the title in the next 5 years. Would I want that to happen to West Ham? I hate to say it but I think I might. I despise Chelsea and will gradually do the same with The Eastlands mob, as I used to with Dalglish’s Blackburn. But, and it’s a big Frankie butt, I can’t see any other way a team like West Ham will ever compete against all that wedge. If you can’t beat em, join em, unfortunately it’s the way the games going.

Not that we will be going anywhere, not with our new Non-Executive Club Chairman Andrew Bernhardt: “I can assure fans we will sanction investment in new players, but all within the parameters of sensible budgeting. CB Holding has no intention of changing the executive management or direction of this club. It will be my job to help facilitate this continued process on the pitch, while ensuring the club’s success is built on a strong financial footing. We have an initial two-year plan which includes improving the infrastructure at the club and we will be getting to work on this as soon as the new board is appointed.”

In other words, the Hammer faithful can look at another season of between 8th & 12th place because we will get shot of high earners like Neill and bring in a few loanees and go with our excellent youth Academy under the watchful eye of Zola & Clarke while Man City Boys leapfrog us into the higher realms of the league with their billions.

Actually, sod it, keep your millions, I wouldn’t change my Claret & Blue alliance for neither Kaka, all pie & mash in Nathans round the corner or a quick fumble with UKFF’s very own Sophie “Dogface” Reade.

Come on you Irons!!!

Hot news on the wire is that the mob taking over the hammers have only 72 hours to “stabilise” the club or we are facing bankruptcy. Fry pan and fryer. I’m in hell!
