Ibrahimovic To Fulham? The Martin Jol Era Begins…

It looks highly likely that the new manager of Fulham Football Club will be Martin Jol. Previously sacked by Tottenham after improving the clubs fortunes, Jol has another chance to manage in the Premier League at Craven Cottage.

Ajax director Rik Van Den Boog has shown his support and admiration for Jol, pleading with him to stay in Holland,
“Ajax are eager to hold on to Martin Jol. He has done a great job at the club so far and we’re confident that he can guide the team to success in the near future.”

I am excited by the prospect of Jol at Fulham. He has a great record in football, guiding AFC Ajax to the Champions League last season, as well as bringing Spurs to the brink of the top tier of European football- finishing 5th in 2005/2006.

There have also been a lot of excitable murmurings around SW6 in the past week in regards to potential players arriving at the club. Zlatan Ibrahimovic shares the same agent as Jol and is reported to want to leave Barcelona for a stint in the Premier League. 49 goal man Luis Suarez could also follow Jol out of the Ajax door in joining up with him in West London.

It’s clear from last few years of the glorious Hodgson era that Fulham have a good, solid, in depth side in all areas of the pitch. It’s fairly obvious that the side is lacking in pace, particulary in midfield, but I believe Jol has the resources and knowledge to add to the team sensibly. Mohammed Al Fayed pocketed £1.5 billion from his recent sale of Harrods and will not have done the transfer budget any harm either!

Possible summer transfer targets for Fulham:

Kevin Prince Boatang
Luis Suarez
Gareth Bale
Maarten Stekelenburg
Landon Donavan
Steve Sidwell
Asamoah Gyan
Joe Hart
Nicolas Loderio
Robbie Keane
Fabio Aurelio
Zlatan Ibrahimovich

    are you for real?

    Ibrahimovich to Fulham?
Joe Hart, (England’s most wanted keeper) to Fulham?
Gareth Bale to Fulham when he is wanted by Man Utd?

I’m pleased you’re excited but calm down a bit, you’re more likely to get Marlon harewood or Robbie Keane (who is finished by the way)

Very slim in the case of Ibra (he has the same agent as Jol) but the others could happen. Keane is still a decent player under the right management and Bale was signed by Jol so he knows him well. Very unlikely though I’ve got to admit!

Nicholas Loderio would be quailty, plenty of pace down the wing and he linked up well with Jol at Ajax so could be possible.

It’s tradition for Fulham to surprise people in the transfer window so you heard it here first.

Could Joe Hart get in the City team? I’m not too sure they would hang onto him if Fulham offered good money

this is quite possibly, one the funniest posts I’ve read in ages!

A massive LOL all round, or should i say MLOLAR!!!!!!

Not even made the Europa League.

Ibra would get first team football, Barca would get good dough and Aj would not get first team football. Everyone’s happy!
