As it has been reported recently in the media Simon is trying to lure Alan Smith, Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate back to the club, in my opinion i would welcome all three back to the club providing there are all fit as they have all proved they can still do it at the top level and all three would want to get this club back where they belong.

I don’t buy into all of that “we don’t want smith he kissed the scum badge” rubbish, there is no proof in this at all and secondly everyone now knows he went to them to save our club. I believe that he could be considered as our captain if he comes back as he is a leader, and this club is at his heart and he would help someone like Johnny Howson to flourish. As for Bowyer, having witnessed some of the performances he put in last year for birmingham i’d jump at the chance to sign him, he was influencial in there carling cup success and he is one the fans would definately love to have back in a white shirt, And finally moving on to Woody when he’s fit he is one of the best centre backs around this one would be the biggest gamble, however everytime he has had an injury for example when he was at madrid he come back to thorp arch to work with our physio’s as they knew his body the best so this could be to his and our advantage.

I know at lot of people won’t agree with me on this but if we sign these three i don’t think we need much more to get promoted a new right and left back and then a young winger on loan as back up for snoddy and max otherwise we have the ability to go up, there is no reason why we can’t win this league anyone can beat each other we just need to make sure that we turn up and support our lads and they will reward us by getting back to the top flight.

B’ham fan here – McLeish dumped Bowyer, but he definitely has 2 years at this level in him. He was great last year – slowing down as each year goes by, but a class above the championship. A Bluenose forever – best of luck to him – hopefully him and Phillips wont scotre against us next season!

Nothing wrong with getting them back at all.

Not sure that Leeds will go up next season though – I think Leicester and Southampton will pip them to the automatic slots, maybe play-offs along with Brighton, Ipswich and Birmingham City.

Still, good luck to them – Arsenal v Leeds/Leeds v Arsenal should be Premiership games!
