Liverpool will receive 1.75m euros from the sale of Emiliano Insua to Atletico Madrid report Yahoo Sports.
The left-back has moved from Sporting Lisbon, where he made 34 appearances to join Los Colchoneros on a three-and-a-half year deal worth 3.5m euros.
The Argentina international will be competition for the left back spot that Filipe currently holds at Atletico. Insua was part of the successful Liverpool squad that finished second in the Premier League in 2008-2009.
The extra money could be used to fund a January move for Phillipe Coutinho who is at the centre of Premier League speculation and has been linked with a move to Anfield and Southampton. Inter Milan have rejected a smaller offer from Liverpool for the Brazilian playmaker and want at least £10m for his services.
Inter Milan have accepted Southampton’s £10.2 million bid for Liverpool target Phillipe Coutinho. Will Liverpool match that bid ?
