Newcastle United have fallen deeper into a relegation battle after a 1-2 defeat to Reading who picked up their first away win of the season. The Magpies had Yohan Cabaye back in the starting line-up and the Frenchman opened the scoring, but Newcastle could not take advantage of their first half dominance as Adam Le Fondre netted twice to take a vital three points.

Here’s what fans thought of the performance on Twitter:

@SteevoToday: Love pardew, but can’t take this anymore. Absolute disaster, not even sure signings will make a difference. We are in big trouble. #nufc

@LoveNufcJade:  PARDEW GET OUT OF OUR CLUB NOW YOU CLUELESS UTTER T**T! #PARDEWOUT #NUFC

@will24williams: For f***s sake!!! Every Saturday is dog s**t!! #NUFC

@KevinSchoch: Can we redirect #pardsout please. This man is like a drunk driver at the wheel of an out of control 18 wheeler. #Nufc

@CHpopadom: F**k sake, imagine being in the Championship with WONGA on our shirts! #NUFC

@Crowinho: Pardew guilty of some of the most negligent management I’ve ever seen this afternoon. Clueless. #nufc

@SamRow:I think this could be the end for me and #NUFC. #GiveUp

@JonnieGorrie: What a joke we are #NUFC

    Pardew is doing to our club exactly what he did to Southampton,he is not a manager. Get moving Ashley and sack him and Llambsarse.
    Get Martinez in for Monday

    Newcastle were always set up to fail this season because last season the club overachieved…and then in the January window the club sells Demba Ba. Who in their right mind would sell their best goalscorer for a little more than 7 million?
