Premier League team of the year? Let the debating commence!

It’s that time of year again and the PFA team of the year results are in:

The team is as follows:

Joe Hart (Birmingham City) (GK)

Branislav Ivanovic

Richard Dunne (Aston Villa)

Thomas Vermaelen (Arsenal)

Patrice Evra (Manchester United)

Antonio Valencia (Manchester United)

Darren Fletcher (Manchester United)

James Milner (Aston Villa)

Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal)

Wayne Rooney (Manchester United)

Didier Drogba (Chelsea)

After last years travesty when half the starting X1 consisted of Man Utd players, the selectors have come to their senses and produced a more cosmopolitan line-up. Unsung heroes such as James Milner, Branislav Ivanovic and Joe Hart have been consistently excellent this season and have played a huge part in their respective teams successes this season- lifting them out of the quagmire more times than not. Liverpool fans look away now, as no players made the respective selection.

England manager Fabio Capello will also not be terribly thrilled, as only three England players made the grade- the lowest total in eight years.

Florent Malouda can count himself a little unfortunate not to make the grade this time. Perhaps something to build on for next year?

Valencia? that has to be a joke, very average at best!

Where’s Gareth Bale? And that’s coming from a Gooner!

Wayne Rooney 36 goals bang ! great player =)

Im interested to see other peoples team of the years. There have been some consistant players this year.

I don’t agree with Valencia being in the team- I would put Malouda in instead. Both have been consistant it has to be said

Perhaps Bobby Zamora instead of Drogba? Zamora should at least make the bench for the best team!

I’ve only really noticed Gareth Bale in the past 10 or so games. B-E-Ekotto was keeping him out of the team. I’d be interested to see the bench but I think they’ve got it pretty much spot on

I agree that Valencia shouldn’t be there. Especially in a season when wingers like Malouda, Pienaar, Young, Bale & Dempsey have had exceptional seasons… I’m struggling to see why Fletcher’s there too but I think that’s down to the type of player he is, quietly consistant…
