The Ultimate 11’s – Nottingham Forest

As it’s all about Brian Clough, the most talented manager never to manage England, we’d thought we let life long Forest fan Chris Legg pick his best ever Forest 11. It may not be the best team of all time, but it’s certainly in the top 1!

The Den will be giving you your moment in the spotlight. Choose your teams greatest ever 11 plus 3 subs from 1970 onwards (consult with Grandpa Joe or uncle Jimbob for references).

Do you really know your clubs proud history or are you just a teenage glory hunter? (not mentioning any names from the Kings Road). Remember you must pick a decent 11, not 10 forwards and a goalie. We’ll have a butchers and Dexy will give his verdict from Mustard to Pony.

Phil Shilton, i thought we were saving the jokes until April 1st???
Bloody work experience muppets!!!, will have to wield the axe unless he bucks his ideas up.

That’s better Peter Shilton. 141 England caps, would have got more is Clemence were’nt about. Shame about his penalties in the 1990 world cup though. He didn’t do too bad for Forest though did he.

Peter Shilton only 4 stars? He’s the most capped English player of all time, surely he’s worth 5 stars for that alone??

I’ve never seen Peter Shilton save a penalty, Italian 90 he dived the right way for all 5 but was so small it actually looks like joke dives when you watch it back

  • Nigel

John Robertson only 4 stars? probably the best midfielder in the world at the time, genius with a football at his feet, fantastic goal in the 1980 european cup final turning Kaltz inside out just like clough had predicted

  • Matt Quinn

    John Robertson.. finest winger ever.

No Bryan Roy though? Ian Woan?
