UKFF’s Director of Football, Ewemade Orobator, pledged to build on “a truly magnificent and incredible” debut season for UKFF and to take the Club to even higher levels next season.
Ewemade told UKFF FC What can be said about our debut season other than it has been truly magnificent and incredible. Firstly we saw off the doubters who tried to dampen our plans. Then we got about doing what we promised -giving players a chance to progress to the the non league or league levels that their talents deserved. However if you said one of our players would play for England at any level in front of 1,000 spectators as Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick did I would have said jog on. And if you said we would get players trial opportunities at clubs such as West Ham, Fulham, Barnet, Cheltenham and excellent non league clubs such as Hayes & Yeading, Hitchen and Leatherhead, would it have been seen as realistic? We have also competed against the Peterborough Elite Academy and won comfortably and competed against senior and intermediate sides and emerged with a 100% record. Truly amazing. As for winning the league and getting to the London Junior Cup Final at our very first attempt -well who has achieved that before ?.And as we will demonstrate with our tour to Greece we are building with the long term future in mind.”
UKFF will undertake a review of the structure of the club which will take into account areas that did not suceed such as the Reserves and whether or not they can be bettered supported. There is also the urgency of securing a home venue to match the clubs new intermediate status and also formal systems to assess players abilities to progress.
“There is alot of work to do but I am determined that we exceed our successes of this season. That is not about winning more trophies because that was NOT our objective last season and nor will it be next season. Our objective remains to progress more players towards sustaniable opportunities at a higher level and we will exceed expectations next season when that is achieved.
