Ultimate 11’s – Top 11 African players of all time

With the ACON in full swing we thought we’d put together our top 11 African players of all time. It’s true to say that the days of Mwepu the Zaire right back clearing a Brazilian free kick in a 1974 World Cup are long gone.

2010 could in fact, be the first time we see an African winner of the World Cup.

If you want to take Matt Quinn’s ‘Blogger of the Year‘ crown then now is the time to start posting your new blogs and comment on everyone else’s.

Do you really know your clubs proud history or are you just a teenage glory hunter? (not mentioning any names from the Kings Road & Eastlands). Remember you must pick a decent 11, not 10 forwards and a goalie. We’ll have a butchers and I’ll give my verdict from Mustard to Pony. E-mail your team to Dexy@ukfootballfinder.co.uk

I’ve got some old ragga toon on tape somewhere and the song is all about Roger Milla and the 1990 World Cup. I’ll have to dig it out for The World Cup. Poom poom!!

Great to see Hadji in the list (although he is Moroccan, not Nigerian!). He scored an amazing goal at the 98 World Cup against Norway.

Daniel Amokachi was a star at Everton. Or should that be supernova? He was brilliant, but mental.
