Wayne Rooney is odds on favorite to be named the Professional Footballers’ Association player of the year.

The Manchester United ace is joined on the shortlist by Arsenal Captain Cesc Fabregas, Chelsea striker Didier Drogba & Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez.

Rooney, who has carried United this season with an impressive 34 goals in all competitions, not to mention an impressive World Cup qualifying campaign with England. Rooney will be looking to make it four successive years it has gone to a United player.

Both Rooney and Fabregas are nominees for the young player of the year award along with Aston Villa’s James Milner and Birmingham’s on loan keeper Joe Hart.

Cesc Fabregas was in sensational goal scoring form for Arsenal until he cracked his right fibula during the first leg of the Gunners’ Champions League quarter-final against Barcelona.

Everyone’s favorite gymnast Didier Drogba has enjoyed an injury free season netting 32 times to leave Chelsea within touching distance of an historic double.

Carlos Tevez, 26, has also enjoyed a prolific campaign; scoring 28 goals since joining City from rivals Manchester United last summer. He is also favorite to win the most annoying goal celebration with his ‘baby thumb in mouth’ routine.

Which players outside of the top six have impressed you this season? Who is the bargain, the flop, the manager & the real hero of the season?
