Wouldn’t Alex Chamberlain Do An Even Better Job?

Since Nasri left Arsenal, Our left wing position has been a bit of a problem.

Ramsey, as clever as he is. Lacks both the pace and dribbling skills Alex and Gervinho have. He does how ever have this ability to always be at the right place at the right time.

He lacks the ability to take on a player and win -consistently that is-. He tends to move in to the middle a lot, which causes Arsenal lose shape and width on the left, And our attacking play ends up being restricted to the right wing and through the middle.

Which makes it no easier because the opposing team presses Our midfield in an attempt to stop us from playing, plus the fact that opposition teams tend to play 5 in the middle field when they come up against Arsenal. Plus playing away from home it’s important your team doesn’t lose shape.

So what’s expected from a player chosen to play on the wing? Simple Pace, Skill, Good link up Play and a Good Crossing Ability. We all know that, But the purpose of playing a midfielder there, is to dominate the game by keeping the ball successfully.

So the reason Arsene keeps picking Ramsey over Gervinho for away Fixtures, is due to the Aaron being seen as a better ball player than Gervinho, And the fact that the West African Loses the ball more frequently during the match. Which
Can be dangerous as we tend to play a high line.

But what a natural winger brings to the teams is width. Maybe If Ramsey had the dribbling skills and pace of Nasri. He would perform as well as Nasri did.

But if you remember Alex Chamberlain’s performance against Milan. You will recall how he bossed the midfield along side Song. Showing his calmness in possession, his ability to know when to go forward, when to sit back and also his ability to retain the ball when under pressure.

So clearly this should tell us that there’s no better player to play on the left wing if we want to dominate the midfield away from home. Alex can do it all, he can cut in from the left and take a shot and He can beat his man, Patrice Evra knows this too well, he can retain the ball and he can cross the ball well.

So clearly he should be picked ahead Of Ramsey and Gervinho if Arsenal want to dominate the midfield.

I’m not saying Ramsey is not good enough, I’m just saying he doesn’t perform to his best on the wing.

Any way this is my OPINION!

I didn’t include Yossi because he will leave in the summer. Who do you think should Play on our left?

    Ramsey Is Quality?
Wow you must be armchair welsh supporter

Ramsey is quality, else why would Arsenal have tracked him for a number of years and beat United to his signature. Yes he’s off form at the moment, but he’s yet to play one full season with the team and the fact he’s back playing at the highest level after a leg break that could have stopped his career show’s he has the talent. Why else would he be a national captain at such a young age? I admit, he’s not a wide man and if he is to play on a wing it’s due to his play-making ability and work rate that can be used to close up and win a game whilst playing on the counter. Chamberlains involvement in games is a huge talking point, and against Wolves the other day I feel he should have come on earlier. His ability to beat a player is second to none and his work rate is of the highest quality. However, his concentration does tend to go and that’s why Wenger isn’t throwing him into games as often as fan’s would like. Ramsey’s best role for Wales is playing as a deep lying play-maker and linking the defence and wide men in the form of Bellamy and Bale, however, Arteta and Song provide that for us with the added experience and positional awareness. Rosicky has suddenly sprung to live after his multiple year sleep and is back enjoying his football, but this is where I feel Ramsey’s best role is. On his day he can play any pass in the world and usually his finishing is top quality, and because of this I feel that once he hits form again and feels like he doesn’t have to give 200% to prove a point and can play comfortably I feel he will develop into a double figure goal scoring midfielder with Wilshere and Song playing in the middle and Ox & Theo on the wings for a very long time to come. Keep the faith, in Arsene we trust.

With Bendtner, Arshavin, Denilson all gone, Sqill/Fab/Manuel not getting games, Theo scoring and assisting as of late, it is left to Ramsey to be the new scapegoat? Noted.

Those who slate Ramsey are idiots and should jog on. Aaron is a top player, still very young, who missed over a year of his early career with a terrible career threatening injury from a Stoke thug.

The Ox SHOULD NOT play every game. He is not ready for 40 games a season. The rotation with him and Gervinho is correct – and now with Benayoun too. He’ll be the real deal in 2013-14.

YES – AOC WOULD DO A BETTER JOB. RAMSEY IS PURE AND SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH. RIGHT NOW WE NEED 4/5 PLAYERS TO TURN US INTO LEAGUE CHAMPIONS – I WOULD BUY THE FOLLOWING VERTONGHEN, MA’VILLA, PODOLSKI, BEN ARFA & HAZARD. WE NEED TO SELL – ALMUNIA, SQUILLACHI, RAMSEY, CHAMAKH, WALCOTT, BEDTNER, WE NEED TO BRING BACK VELA, RYO AND IN MY OPINION DENNILSON WHO IS MUCH BETTER THAN RAMSEY. WITH THESE 5 PLAYERS WOULD BEAT ANYONE!!

  • Philip

Vela is not good enough, he couldn’t even get in the West Brin side. As for Denilson, r u having a laugh

To be honest its better to pick alex than ramseyand gervinho

  • cambi

Ramsey is a great player on his day. Remembered how much chances he was providing at the start of the season? People said the same about Song when he was just bought but Ramsey will prove you wrong and Im sure about that.
